I've been posting a lot about porridge. Funnily enough I've been talking alot about it irl also - it's seems to have got very fashionble to eat porridge these days (??)
As you know I am on a bit of a health kick and trying to lose weight. One key component of my diet is porridge every morning. Today being a Saturday I had to make it myself at home, for the first time ever. David had a packet of Flahavans in the press - but it was the regular stuff rather than microwavable stuff (although you can actually microwave it if you want).
So I figured I would try cook it the "old-fashioned" way.
Plus the method on the side of the packet was in cups so it I figured it was a good opportunity to use my reproduction vintage measuring cups!
How fabulous are these reproduction vintage cups?!
1/2 cup of porridge oats
1 & 1/4 cup water/milk - I used 1 milk, 1/4 water but I may do half & half next time
Bring to boil and stir continuously for 3 minutes - it thickens up really quickly
Et voila!
