I am five years married on 30th of October. A wise person (who I cannot remember now!!) suggested to me that we should get married on a Bank Holiday so that every year we would have a day off work around our annivesary. Great advice! Today is a Monday and I am sitting in bed blogging, how good is that!
In celebration of five years married we booked tickets a while back to go see the Lord of the Rings (The Two Towers) in the O2. It is a large screen showing the film with the RTE Orchestra and a large choir performing the score. We went to the first film (Fellowship of the Ring) approx a year ago so had been waiting expectantly for the second production date to be announced.
The show was in the O2 theatre - which I like to call by it's orginal name The Point (the Point Depot theatre). It's a great old building built approx 1870's.
A friend of mine co-incidentally was hired to be in the production - she is a freelance violinist - I guess the RTE orchestra needed to be extended. She posted this picture from rehearsal. I have circled our seats on the left hand side. They were good for viewing purposes. But god the seats are not comfortable!!!!
Here is a picture from the show. It was a very large audience and choir. I have placed an arrow at the front to show where my friend was positioned. On the left, the little square highlights the children's choir - there were approx 50 children singing! And on the right there were approx 100 adults singing!
It was a fantastic night. We are now looking forward to the third production next year.
