Steak night!
Oh yeah baby! :-)
In advance, I have to apologise about the photos in this blog post.
I have been trying for the last half hour but I simply cannot get them to save correctly so unfortunatly they are showing upside down or side view etc.
Again, I do apologise - if you have an ipad you can just rotate the tablet, but if you are viewing on a laptop you can't really do that. And you certainly can't do it if you have a pc.
At the moment we have a friend of ours (Ollie) staying with us. Ollie lives in Thailand and is home in Ireland approx once a year or so.
He is an ideal houseguest because he makes the most amazing (hot!) curries which is a real treat.
One thing Ollie can't get over in Thailand is steak and he had a real hankering for one while in Ireland. David and I used to regularly do steak on a Saturday night, so it was as good an excuse as any to have a Super Saturday Steak night as we like to call 'em :-)
I went to Superquinn this morning to get the steak and supplies.
The butcher was very helpful in advising me on the cut and how to cook.
I was querying with him if I should get them butterflied but he was saying with these as they were quite large but flat I should be okay and would not need that.
I bought some nice prepared roast veg but added in some extra red onion.
I love any opportunity to use my steak knives! I got these years ago in TK Maxx.
Dessert!
Red wine and dark chocolate! Mmmm.
Oh and of course there were Caiproskas! We enjoyed them as a pre-dinner cocktail.
After all that I was too occupied with serving up, and would you believe I forgot to take photos of the finished product!!!! But rest assured it was very VERY TASTY!!
Clean plates and full bellies all round!
